About Us

Our long-standing activity is based on creating patterns of active participation in culture as well as active promotion the Creator and his Creation. We support professionals and amateurs, we bring up and educate through art, we make available and protect cultural achievements. We develop interest in knowledge and art among thousands of participants and receivers of our versatile activities. We inspire and hold patronage of hobby movement and local initiatives. For many years, we have been constantly creating conditions for developing artistic movement in our region. We are among the world leaders in terms of the amount and the quality of bands, creative groups, studios and special interests groups as well as the number of people who directly participate in creative activities. We represent our country everywhere we are often invited with our bands and projects. We cooperate actively with creators and community centres scattered around the world. We can boast great bonds linking us with Japan through international cultural scientific organizations.

We hosted theatrical and film creators, photographers and visual artists, opera house and operetta artists, dancers and classical musicians as well as avant-garde and highly-regarded jazz creators from all over the world.

We are moving with the times-we introduced the system of cultural information through mails. Our versatile activities are widely popularized thanks to You in both local and all-Poland mass media. We are organizers of international painting and photographic plein-air workshops, festivals, concerts, performances, reviews, film shows, educational trips, workshops and competitions.

We are still developing- except a great number of events held throughout a year we broadened our offer to six new theme proposals and some successful cyclic events. We are just starting to introduce some large-scale activities of Siedlce University of the Third Age.

We vaunt a great, partly antique locals. But in our region, the most important are the people who are more often than not rewarded for their output and achievements in their work for the benefit of culture. They are rewarded with the Cross of Merit and Distinguished Culture Activist awards. Among the workers of the Urban Community Centre we can find people repeatedly awarded during many international and national competitions, exhibitions, reviews and championships. Prestigious “Aleksandria” winners work for us. This award is given to outstanding personalities by the President of Siedlce. We are very proud of honouring our workers with the awards of the Foundation of Podlasie Culture as well as the Ludomir Benedyktowicz prize.
